Grr...
Ten hours of fiddling with my email account to discover why mails were being "eaten", and all that to discover that my provider suppressed some "highly likely spams" by default.

Guess what... Among those "highly likely spams" was my copy of a novel query (the one I sent to myself, to retain in my files). Apparently, putting too much text in the body of a mail can be interpreted as spam...

:: nods in frustrated agreement ::

Do you realize how many query letters I've had to send out because my server ATE a rejection/acceptance slip? I mean, on the one hand, yay for the ease of email, and on the other hand, it makes me look so unprofessional....

And by ate, I mean "assumed was spam." In theory, it's not eating any spam now, shoving it into a folder instead, but...auugh!

Wow, you have a smart one. Mine erases it before it reaches my eyes (which is cool, but not very helpful when stuff gets eaten).

Yeah, I'd assumed it was being smart on its own, because it was tagging part of my messages as spam--so I thought it wasn't doing any erasing. But then I saw that it was also erasing mails which it thought had 99.99% chance of being spam... (and being so totally wrong about it).

I hope it behaves now.

(and yeah, it does make one look bad)

Sorry to hear about that. I've been really happy with my gmail account since I switched over. I have yahoo and mail.com too (actually the good baron has the mail.com one *hee*), but gmail is my principal addy.

I use my university's mail server, but it's sometimes giving me grief. I like being able to redirect it where I want, though.
I do have a gmail account; it's just that I never ever use it.

I suspect mine's been doing the same thing.

:-(
This is annoying, isn't it?

Yeah. I'm afraid I might be irritating a certain agent, because as far as I know he's sent me something 2 or 3 times, but I haven't got it.

:-( I'm worrying about whether I missed answers...
Can't you give that agent another address?

I'm getting e-mails, just not the attachment I expected to be with them.

Mine server changed something and I ended up sending out a bunch of queries that lost all formatting. Of course, I only noticed it on the last query and as the email zipped off into cyberspace. One agent got about a half dozen of the same unformatted query from me thanks to my (ex)server. I never heard back from that agent.

Ooh, that sucks. At least you got a new server, but still...
